Project Description:
Work with the Engineering staff to support testing and commissioning of substation additions and modifications related to both capital projects and operations/maintenance. Work as an intern doing tasks spanning all aspects of power system protection and control; including protection system modeling, short circuit studies, automated test development, power system controls design review, and various analytical tasks to support regulatory compliance requirements. Through practical field experience and mentoring, successful candidate will gain significant knowledge, professional confidence, and people skills.
- This opportunity will begin in January with the potential to extend into a school semester. The candidate should be able to work full-time during the summer and 10-20 hrs./wk. during a school semester.
Minimum Requirements
* Must be enrolled in an ABET accredited Electrical or Power Systems Engineering program
* Current Sophomore or above.
* Ability to communicate effectively; both written and verbally
* Must be self- motivated, have good mechanical aptitude, and ability to work well with others
* Must be within commuting distance of work location year-round
* Able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer
* Able to commit to the internship for a year or longer
* Willingness to work in field and in office

Non-Bargaining
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $22.50 per hour
This position is eligible for the following benefits: Pension, 401(k) plan, Paid time off (PTO), Holidays
