Substation Engineering Intern

An internship at Xcel Energy will give you practical experience in the energy industry at a company that’s committed to excellence, safety and environmental stewardship.

• Work with Senior Engineers and Design staff performing various basic level engineering duties including updating existing drawings and creating new drawings using various software tools and calculations. Also help with compliance utilizing departmental standard processes. With experience and mentoring, a candidate will learn substation design, NERC compliance and the ability to work within a team environment.

• This will be a summer opportunity with the potential to extend into a school semester. The candidate should be able to work full-time during the summer and 10-20 hrs./wk. during a school semester.

Minimum Requirements

Must be enrolled in an ABET accredited engineering program, studying areas such as electrical, and civil engineering.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $20.70 per hour
