Gas Storage Engineer (Staff or Senior) Job

Summary
Under general direction, demonstrates complete understanding & wide application of engineering technical principle, theories, & concepts in the field. Independently determines & develops approaches to solutions. Receives technical guidance on complex problems; completed work reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives. May lead small-medium non-critical projects or critical projects under direction of higher level engineer/supervisor. May provide work direction to other professionals &/or staff. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects. Frequent inter-organizational & outside customer contact. Demonstrates a broad knowledge & proficiency of precedents in the specialty area, a good knowledge of related specialties, & general knowledge of other related disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute and supervise well work including rework, logging, well abandonment and new well projects.
  • Champion facility projects such as wellhead equipment (dehydration, separators, metering equipment, compression, disposal well and associated water well disposal facilities such as filtration equipment.)
  • Assist fellow staff members with the development, execution, and documentation of integrity management plan requirements.
  • Report required regulatory data to regulatory agencies
  • Monitor operation of assigned gas storage fields including management of individual well performance, perform reservoir optimization analysis, and design, conduct, and report well testing results.
  • Perform economic analysis of new storage well and capacity opportunities.
  • Coordinate with field operations, Gas Control, and Gas Supply for gas injection and withdrawal required volumes.


Staff Level Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from ABET accredited curriculum (or recognized equivalency). Petroleum Engineering Degree preferred.
  • 2+ years relevant engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated broad knowledge & proficiency in specialty area, knowledge of related specialties, & general knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Ability to demonstrate the unique technical skills & core competencies for this engineering level established and documented by the organization.

Staff Level Preferred Requirements:

  • Casing design, well integrity and well stimulation design experience
  • Previous Project Management experience
  • Well control certified
  • EIT/FE (Engineer in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering) strongly preferred

 

Senior Level Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited curriculum (or recognized equivalency).  Petroleum Engineering Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years relevant engineering experience
  • EIT/FE (Engineer in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering) required
  • Ability to demonstrate the unique technical skills and core competencies for this engineering level established & documented by the organization.

 

Senior Level Preferred Requirements:

  • Casing design, well integrity and well stimulation design experience
  • Previous Project Management experience
  • Well control certified
  • PE (Professional Engineer) registration may be required depending on business need

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $74,000 to $116,332 per year
