This position starts at $14.25 per hour with bilingual differentials available. New hires will be eligible for a $250 retention bonus at 4 months, 8 months, and 12 months (a total of $750) if employees are meeting expectations.

 

Due to the current pandemic circumstances, onboarding and new hire training will take place virtually until employees can safely return to the Eau Claire Skypark location. To accommodate this, all new hires will need to have access to reliable high speed internet, and a place in their home or other location where they can attend new hire training without interruption.

 

 

Position Summary
Schedule: Training Schedule: Monday - Friday 10:30am – 7:00pm (or) 11:30am – 8:00pm; permanent schedule options with start times between 10:30 and 11:30 will be reviewed during information sessions.  


The Credit and Collections Associate II's primary responsibility is to provide accurate information to Xcel Energy customers in a professional and efficient manner by anticipating the customer’s needs, and satisfactorily resolving issues with one contact. Accountable for individual performance indicators of Credit and Collections and productivity to ensure the overall financial objectives are achieved. Regular, reliable attendance is an essential job function.



Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Resolve customer inquiries concerning all credit and collections issues in a timely manner. Perform consistently to meet objectives and goals. Demonstrate personal accountability in areas of dependability and time management. Handle customer inquiries in an environment that requires a high tolerance for stress. De-escalate customer issues in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned including work on special projects as needed.


Minimum Requirements

 

  • 1+ year credit/customer service experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to research and resolve complex customer issues and possess strong decision making and analytical skills.
  • Problem Solving Skills.
  • Negotiation Skills.
  • Navigate multiple computer systems and applications.
  • Bilingual/Spanish experience is a plus.
  • Military Experience considered.

Steps in Xcel Energy’s hiring process

  2. Candidates who successfully pass the assessment will be contacted to come in for an information session and interview.
  3. After attending our information session/interview, our Team Leaders will calibrate to decide which candidates are best qualified and offers will be made.
  4. Candidates who accept the employment offer will be required to pass Xcel Energy’s background check and drug test. This process can take up to two weeks before clearance is issued.
  5. After successful passing of the background check and drug test, candidates are ready to start the training class.
