We anticipate the need for one or more Material Handler(s) to be located at the Faribault Service Center in Faribault, MN. The starting rate of pay for this position is $23.68 hourly. This position will be posted for 10 working days from May 28, 2021 to June 10, 2021.  


Job Responsibilities (May include, but not limited to the following):
Perform the duties of the Warehouseman Graduate Wage scale classification, performing the daily operational activities of the material handling functions at assigned geographic locations.

This position requires the safe operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment. A high awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules is required at all times. 

Serve as the day-to-day interface with local operational customers. Duties include but not limited to material ordering from Alliance suppliers and from other internal storerooms as necessary. Receiving activities which include unload and loading of trucks and receipt of materials both stock and non-stock. Putaway activities, order filling, physically fill and stage orders for field construction crews. Process material returns/credits from the field. Keep work area and yard cleaned and organized as necessary. Provide excellent customer service for local management and field employees. Participate in all safety and training programs.

1.    High Schoold Dipoloma or GED.
2.    Forklift Certified.
3.    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4.    Ability to successfully work with internal customers on a wide range of concerns.
5.    Must be self-motivated and possess a positive attitude.
6.    Commitment to work productively and safely.
7.    Must be able to lift 50 pounds safely.
8.    Adapt to multiple computer systems and programs.
9.    Able to obtain CDL class A within 6 months.
10.  Must successfully complete OSHA Crane Certification.


Special Requirements      
1.    May require participation in after-hour emergency call outs.

  4. Candidates who accept the employment offer will be required to pass Xcel Energy’s background check and drug test. This process can take up to two weeks before clearance is issued.
  5. After successful passing of the background check and drug test, candidates are ready to start the training class.
