Senior Instrument & Control Specialist Job

Summary
Perform installation, maintenance, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, configuration and repair of power plant instrumentation and process control systems, including CEMS. 2. Perform testing required by Plant Operation, regulatory requirements; review, prepare and submit records in support of these activities. 3. Specify and initiate purchase requisitions in support of the above. 4. Maintain accurate records. 5. Perform equipment and/or system upgrades with latest technology for plant optimization.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of boiler and turbine control systems
  • Calibration, troubleshooting and repair of instruments
  • Assist in the development and installation of special controls projects, modifications and upgrades
  • Assist in the development of written procedures and processes for operation and maintenance of the boiler and turbines
  • Provide environmental reporting and monitoring of CEMS

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-year certificate from vocational technical institute in electronics or instrumentation (company approved training and/or experience may substitute for the education)
  • Must have NICET Level II (or company approved equivalent certification)
  • 4 years previous power plant instrumentation
  • Scheduled and emergency overtime
  • Must possess the skills needed o respond to back shift callout for unsupervised work
  • Traveling to other sites may be required
  • Testing and/or assessment may be required.

Preferred
  • 2 years experience with troubleshooting repairs and to the component level of electronic/industrial instrumentation
