Electrical Engineer Intern - Gas Job

This internship is onsite in Minneapolis, MN and only local candidates will be considered. 

Position Summary
Work with Plant Reliability Engineering staff to support plant projects, both capital and operations/maintenance. Work as an entry level engineering analyst doing tasks spanning all aspects of plant operations including performance/efficiency, emissions control, contract and project management and documentation, drawing development/modification/revision, specifying new and replacement equipment, making process improvement recommendations, supporting requests from operations and maintenance. Through practical field experience and mentoring, successful candidate will gain significant professional confidence and people skills.

Work Site: Riverside Plant, 3100 Marshall St, Minneapolis, MN 55418 (gas plant)

This position is full-time in the summer (40 hours/week), with the potential for continuation for part-time work during the school year, and/or the summer of the following year.

Minimum Requirements 

• Must be enrolled in an ABET accredited engineering program
• Majoring in Electrical Engineering preferred (Computer Engineering students will be considered)
• Prefer Sophomore or above 
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to communicate effectively; both written and verbally 
• Must be self- motivated, have good mechanical aptitude, and ability to work well with others
• Submit an unofficial transcript. 
• Ability to commute to location in Minneapolis, MN is required.

Preferred 

• Course work in power generation or project management and an interest in the power industry desirable

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $19.50 - $22.60 per hour
