Financial Forecasting Consultant Job

Summary
Performs independently and provides management with investment information on financial opportunities, assists with and develop external financings and compliance, investment analysis, leasing, derivatives, forecasting, regulatory testimony and filings, and modeling financial impact of corporate decisions or regulatory actions.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide management with investment information on opportunities, forecasts, merger and acquisition valuations, and financial strategies and recommendations on how investments will be financed. Coordinate securities issuance's including preparation of documents, due diligence, and pricing. Assist and make recommendations for appropriate hedging transactions. Maintain and develop leasing, long term debt, and credit facility compliance databases. Provide technical support to other areas within treasury and throughout the company.
  • Performs investment analysis for corporate decision making which includes: financial support and analysis for company capital review process, lease vs. buy, vendor credit analysis, risk assessments, other investment opportunities. Provides consulting services and strategic direction to business units and other Corporate areas for new opportunities and investments.
  • Perform modeling and analysis to determine financial policies, capital structure management, five year forecasting, cash forecasting, long term AFUDC rate, dividend strategy, rating agency forecasts, regulatory strategy, and presentations to the board of directors.
  • Performs research on market conditions and provides data and regulatory testimony including analysis, strategy, development and cost of capital recommendations. Assist in performing regulatory support for the rate cases, riders, and associated schedules.
  • Provides support with respect to asset management decisions related to the defined benefit and defined contribution plans, the nuclear decommissioning trust, and other employee benefit plans.
  • Performs SOX self assessments and assists with external reporting requirements.

Required
  • Bachelor's degree with Business Administration, Finance or related discipline
  • 6 years experience in financial, investment analysis, or related field
  • Demonstrated financial modeling, consulting, planning, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of investment analysis, financial instruments and complex financial concepts
  • Ability to participate in training to facilitate skill development and to improve ability to perform more complex tasks
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred
  • Work towards or completion of MBA, CFA (Certified Financial Advisor), CPA (Certified Professional Accountant), or CTP (Certified Treasury Professional)
