Please Note: Special Emphasis for the SPS Performance Manager Position located in Amarillo, TX:

The ideal candidate for these particular Performance Manager positions would have past experience / aptitude in Financial Management and associated Processes and Operational Metrics Development.  While these positions will support the overall Distribution Operations Organization (multi-OpCo), approximately 35% of their time will be spend in support of the local Distribution Operations Leadership within the OpCo that they reside.

 

Summary
Directs strategic business plan processes, drives operational effectiveness, and provides performance governance for the operating company to maximize achievement of customer satisfaction, workforce deployment, and operational and financial performance. Provides leadership on large projects and initiatives, and partners with other functions to improve current processes and implement new processes. Leads key and critical projects on behalf of the organization and serves as a liaison and represents organization with key business partners.

Essential Responsibilities

 

 

  • Enhance performance of the organization by evaluating scorecard results and verifying that action plans are established and executed. Drive for completion of all strategic objectives outlined in the area's Operating Plan, and ensure that the performance governance business tools are maintained as a valuable resource. Lead the communication of the organization's performance results to improve understanding of strategic objectives of organization.
  • Provide leadership while overseeing large projects and initiatives for the organization. Lead the establishment and execution of plans to ensure the successful completion of projects and initiatives, and ensure that any resulting new processes or procedures are developed and implemented.
  • Serve as organization's representative with key business partners. Leverage partnerships to strategically position the organization with such items as the administration of an audit plan, development and implementation of service policy revisions, implementation of process improvements to enhance customer satisfaction, and the design and implementation of new processes and procedures to comply with new business standards and practices.
  • Evaluate current work practices and identify process improvement opportunities to enhance productivity and/or reduce costs. Lead efforts to design, implement, and communicate new processes.
  • Lead the strategic business planning effort, to include the creation of operating plans, scorecard baselines, and performance management considerations for the organization. Evaluate the key performance indicators and individual goals for consistency, measurability, and alignment with strategic initiatives and plans. Lead the communication of the strategic business planning documents to ensure that the documents are well understood and executed.
  • Establish and/or direct area's processes and programs to ensure the area meets it's various compliance requirements (Sarbanes-Oxley, LMS training, regulatory, work management, gas compliance, etc.). Leads the establishment and execution of action plans to correct any compliance deficiencies.
  • Partners with corporate auditing and leads the operation regarding audit strategy and action planning in the spirit of continuous performance improvement). Monitors and ensures operational regulatory governance and compliance is in place (ie: Gas Compliance, Service Policy, Tariff Compliance, etc.)
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction monitoring for the organization. Drives the operational improvement strategies resulting from customer feedback.


Required

 

 

 

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline (6 years related experience may substitute for the degree)
  • 10 or more years of construction or operations experience in the Utility Industry
  • 5 years middle management experience
  • 1 year of demonstrated experience in strategy and planning development
  • Experience in business and operational performance measures and scorecards
  • Leadership capabilities in projects and positions
  • Demonstrated ability to meet business and financial objectives
