Senior IT Manager - Meter Services Job

Position Summary
The Sr IT Manager – Meter Services is responsible for leading a diverse team in end-to-end, dynamic, lifecycle management of the strategic IT Portfolio of systems, tools, integrations and services supporting the “meter-to-bill” value stream, while transforming the delivery towards Agile practices.  Accountable for strategic planning, demand management, delivery and operation of services, products and processes, as well as people leadership, vendor and contract management. They continuously evolve and innovate the IT products and services within the Meter Insights product group, and contribute to achieving IT and Enterprise Strategies and KPIs.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Lead and manage the performance and development of staff. Lead priorities and manage work performance of staff, vendors and contractors. Provide leadership as needed across multiple sites, and in alignment with Union or other contracts.
  • Relationship Management: Understand the customers’ needs, and partner to deliver innovative solutions. Partner with Supply Chain, Finance, Enterprise Security, Audit/Compliance and other internal groups to drive results.
  • Product Management: Ensure products and services operate in a lean, stable, and adaptable manner. Ensure product delivery and operation are cost effective and within budget.
  • Strategy and Planning: Develop, propose and manage long and mid-term strategic technology plans and roadmaps for assigned products and services.
  • Operations Management: Drive continuous improvement in IT performance. Proactively prevent and support prompt restoration of service disruptions.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Science, Business or related field, or 4 years of experience equivalent to the position.
  • Five years of prior people leadership experience.
  • Ten years of experience with end-to-end service lifecycle, business process, project or product management.
  • Five years of experience with strategic planning, portfolio prioritization, delivery execution, and operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, effective with varying organizational levels and skill sets.
  • Excellent Relationship Management and collaboration skills, with a track record of working as one team cross-organizationally to drive innovation and business results.
  • Experience working within a highly regulated industry.
  • Ability to deliver value in compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a customer focus, problem solve, and drive continuous improvement to solutions, systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive, adopt, and lead others through change in a diverse and dynamic environment.
  • Experience with Sourcing and Contract Management.
  • Proven ability to attain and hold in-depth acumen in business process, technical knowledge, and architectural topology.

 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills

  • 5+ years experience in end-to-end utility metering technology analysis, support and delivery
  • 3+ years experience with Itron metering technologies (meters, meter data management, field collections/deployment tools)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the complex usage patterns and data flows for advanced metering services in key value streams, including outage management, grid optimization and meter-to-bill
  • 2+ years experience blueprinting, designing, building or supporting cloud based data lake services that provide efficient raw ingestion, support for analytics and/or subsequent data distribution
  • 2+ years experience supporting or leading Agile teams, either as a product owner, scrum master, analyst or engineer within those teams
  • 2+ years experience managing and grooming demand backlog to support the work pipeline for an Agile delivery team
  • Experience with complex, multi-party distributed systems integrations and methodologies, including (point-to-point, file transfers, bus, middleware, microservices)
  • Experience coordinating, analyzing, diagnosing, communicating and managing recovery from critical service incidents

 

 

During COVID-19 Pandemic this position may require the ability to temporarily work remote within the company service territory until company protocol dictates return to the office criteria has been met. Telecommuting Policy: A plan has been created to officially rollout a hybrid work-from-home option that will take effect when it is safe to move forward to return to the workplace. This position will participate in this new policy.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $116,000 to $164,666 per year
