This primarily responsibilities of this role will be supporting the performance management and employee/leadership development programs for Xcel Energy. Provide Talent Management (TM) consultation in areas of leadership and employee development, performance management, and succession planning. Design and deliver projects and programs using a variety of approaches. Manage organization-wide projects and/or programs on-time and within budget parameters. Measure the effectiveness of programs. Work in partnership with the other areas of Human Resources and the business to produce and deploy Talent Management programs across multiple Business Areas.


  • Provides leadership for TM initiatives, including planning and execution of programs for executives, high potential employees, front line leaders and all other segments of leadership. Creates project plans and manages all aspects of TM projects and programs.
  • Apply knowledge and skill in rapid development of TM programs and tools using multiple methods, leveraging technology including mobile, e-learning, video, social learning and other emerging technologies.
  • Partner with other members of the HR team and key stakeholders from the business to deploy TM programs that align with broader business and HR goals. Source and manage ongoing relationships with external vendors. Work closely with HR Consultants and other key communication channels in support of marketing programs.
  • Manage the collection and reporting of metrics. Leverage metrics to drive necessary improvements to programs. Drive the overall effectiveness of programs to produce targeted business outcomes. 


  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or a combination of education and experience demonstrating equivalent knowledge.
  • At least four years of work experience in training and consulting or related areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex organization wide projects and programs on time and in budget.
  • Strong communication and group presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of adult learning design theory.
  • Strong computer skills especially with Excel, PowerPoint MS project, and Word.



  • Experience with managing large-scale programs effectively, and leading the development of recommendations for improvements/updates of the programs
  • Experience with change management at an enterprise level
  • Experience with developing communication plans and developing key messages that connect program goals with HR/corporate goals
  • Experience in collaborating with team members, other HR partners and employees/leaders within the organization to seek input and feedback, ensuring solutions meet business needs
