Summary
Be a part of a team that makes significant contributions to helping Xcel Energy customers use cleaner energy in a smarter way and helps them reduce their carbon footprint. Develop and launch new energy efficiency, clean energy technologies (e.g., renewables, storage), and demand management customer programs by leading cross-functional teams and external partners to leverage our historic program expertise, leading-edge distributed intelligence capabilities, and Advanced Metering Infrastructure. In addition to developing new programs, you will play an important role in improving business processes, conducting strategic planning, and strengthening working relationship with key business partners.

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and launch new products, as well as support the development of large/complex new programs, employing design thinking principles to ensure the customer is the focus of the design approach.
  • Monitor and document results to ensure that product development activities achieve platform strategies, adhere to process, maintain schedule, manage risk and budget, while identifying opportunities for both process and program improvement.
  • Effectively and efficiently transition products to Product Management or Commercialization teams.
  • Prepare and garner agreement on compelling business plans for new product ideas through the continuously improved product development process, including financial, market, competition, risks, regulatory and other factors.
  • Participate in the identification of new customer energy efficiency, clean energy, and demand management programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with partner organizations within and external to Xcel Energy. Engage in robust communication and integration of efforts across teams.

 

Required

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or related discipline or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
  • Five years experience in product development, program management, engineering, or regulatory administration
  • Proven project management experience and excellent written and verbal communication skills required


Preferred

 

  • Graduate degree
  • Experience with investor-owned utility customer energy programs

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $77,000 to $123,666 per year
