<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Xcel Energy has an opening for a Journeyman Lineman or a Lineman Apprentice to join our team in Roswell, NM!

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">As an apprentice lineman you will be taught a very rewarding career in constructing, maintenance, removal and storm restoration of high voltage transmission lines. Xcel Energy has a very reputable Department of Labor certified apprentice program that is recognized throughout the United States.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Position will be responsible for construction, maintenance and operations. Supports maintenance and emergency repairs of distribution and transmission lines.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Required

  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Must have a High School diploma or GED
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Must have a valid commercial driver’s license (or the ability to obtain one within 120 days of employment)
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Must have successfully taken the EEI CAST Assessment (1st – 4th Year only, EEI CAST testing opportunities may be offered for this job posting)
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Must be totally committed to safety, quality work and customer service
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Must be able and willing to respond to after hour and weekend call outs
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Position could possibly require travel for extended time periods
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Must be mentally competent, able to communicate and able to comprehend instructions and build on previous experience
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Must exhibit a team work attitude and be able to work with others
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Must be of adequate physical stature to:
    • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Lift and maneuver up to 90 lbs
    • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Climb wood poles up to 100' tall
    • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Perform aerial work in a safety belt in a safe and efficient manner
    • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Use shovels, sledge hammers and 90 lb jack hammers
    • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Work in confined areas
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Must pass the federal DOT physical examination
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Must reside within 20 miles of the Roswell, NM service center
