Position Summary


The Senior Engagement Manager is responsible for working between digital solution development organization, and associated business units to implement and deploy digital work tools and processes that drive business unit outcomes, while also developing continuous improvement capabilities. This role will engage owners across various enterprise operations to identify and drive process improvements and change management to support digital transformation and long-term value enhancement for the business. This role is also responsible for overseeing both financial and operational resources to drive implementation and ultimately responsible for long-term financial value realization within business financials. The role must operate at and engage with the highest levels of business leadership to garner executive support and influence for effective change and continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities


  • Project Management: Improvement lead for business process redesign that drive value including a portfolio of digital initiatives and targeted events. Partner with business area leadership to define deliverables, success metrics and key milestone schedules. Develop work plans, budgets, and cost/benefit analyses. Support and drive successful delivery of project benefits and operational metrics in a dynamic/complex environment. Independently manage detailed project plans to approved scope/schedule and provide cross-functional tracking as needed.
  • Change Management: Provide strategic consultation for process improvement initiatives and develops, implements, and manages a workflow design across the entire business unit. Lead role in providing expert consultation and analysis on issues. Leads training and support for change agents, focused on achieving long term culture change and cultivating a spirit of operational excellence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage owners across various enterprise process streams responsible for identifying and driving process improvement. Acts as a key liaison between the Business Unit Leadership, Business Systems, and the Innovation and Transformation Office. Participates in enterprise capability building and process management activities; enforces established change controls. Continually identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Relationship Management: Serve as the catalyst and primary point of contact with business area leaders, business area finance capital accounting, and any other stakeholder necessary for value capture. Communicates organizational vision and project status to all levels of the organization.
  • Opportunity Identification & Business Case Development: Responsible for the identification of improvement opportunities within their enterprise value streams; and securing required approvals. Support the enterprise prioritization and governance process and leads the business case development and prioritization. Develops criteria to evaluate potential value of multiple, competing business cases. Leads the delivery of scalable and transferable solutions including strategy formulation, execution, optimization and results measurement. 
  • KPI Development & Financial Management: Designs KPI's focused on business results and organizational effectiveness including the use of balanced scorecards that incentivize desired outcomes. Assist with management of project financials including budgeting, forecasting, and actuals tracking. Review actuals versus planned budget during project life cycle to identify deviations, research reason for deviation and recommend corrective action. 
  • Coach & Mentor: Coach Business Unit Leadership and Senior Leadership through change and business unit continuous improvement. Champions on improvement activities, expectations, and opportunities. Provide coaching and training to less experienced team members.

Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 10 years related business area/industry experience
  • Internal/External consulting experience leading improvement and transformation initiatives with a focus on digital transformations
  • Ability to effectively communicate to a variety of audiences and analyze complex business scenarios. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly and work within a diverse, cross-functional team environment
  • Change management and program/project management experience
  • Understanding of core business processes/industry trends with ability to interpret and react to ongoing changes
  • Strong technical acumen with a demonstrated ability to translate digital strategies to operational outcomes


Preferred Qualifications


  • Gas and/or Electric Utility Industry experience
  • Prior experience leading continuous improvement initiatives through digital factories and enabling supporting technologies
  • MBA, Industrial Engineering, or other related certification
  • Experience working in a fast-paced digital environment, capable of deploying multiple solutions across a portfolio
  • Business process management skillset including Six Sigma/Lean Toolsets, and data management skillsets
  • Experience serving as a strategic advisor to business leadership and capable to influence and align peers around a direction without direct authority
  • Experience working cross-functionally within a matrix organization with multiple partners including product design, and technical peers, to serve as a thought partner during solution development, with an eye towards solution readiness for deployment
  • Experience managing junior resources to drive day-to-day change management efforts and measure associated financial impact of the initiative
  • PMP certification

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $100,000 to $142,000 per year
