Substation Design Intern Job

Summary:

Our Substation Engineering Design group is looking to bring on a design intern to work at our downtown Amarillo location. The focus of this internship is to provide the student with a broad look at the electrical utility industry through entry-level tasks. This intern will provide assistance on electrical substation projects through aiding Designers and Engineers in the design, fieldwork, and print preparation for major capital projects. Work may include some special assignments.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be currently enrolled in a 2-year technical education program at a post-secondary institution focusing on drafting or electrical/technical degree
• Basic computer skills and aptitude are required
• Applicants need strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Requirements:

• Able to work 10-20 hours a week during the school year and 40 hours a week during the summer
• Microstation and/or AutoCAD experience preferred
• Within reasonable commuting distance to Amarillo, TX

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $17.00 per hour
