Summary

 

The company’s supplier enablement team is comprised of Supplier Diversity, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) within Supply Chain. Members of the team collaborate to develop and implement strategies designed to align with the company’s business goals. These efforts enable a supplier management structure: strategic governance, operational risk management, contract compliance management, enterprise supplier enablement, supplier diversity, supply chain analytics and drive measurable environmental and social benefit through ESG visibility, improvement, and reporting.

 

The purpose of the Supplier Enablement Intern role is to assist in the management of the company’s Supplier Diversity program and the team’s development and roll out of the 2023 SRM and ESG programs. As an individual contributor and member of the Supplier Enablement team within the Governance & Enablement department for the summer and/or fall & winter, you will be supporting identified team objectives and will gain an understanding of the discrete parts in the sourcing life cycle to support inclusivity of diverse suppliers. Under guidance and mentorship, you will contribute to efforts to grow and expand partnerships with internal sourcing and business unit stakeholders and outreach with third party organizations to engage small and diverse business enterprises. You will also contribute to the team’s implementation of a Supplier Relationship Management program that will strategically plan for and manage interactions with key suppliers to create closer, more collaborative relationships, maximizing value and reducing risk for the benefit of both the Company and the Suppliers. You will also contribute to the team’s implementation of the ESG program, which strategically involves supply chain management, optimizing procurement, operations, and logistics networks to create a competitive advantage, while also managing the environmental and social impacts of end-to-end supply chain.

 

Key facets of this role include the need for strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. As an Intern on the team, you will be an active participant in daily execution of team initiatives. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing diverse supplier research to support team and sourcing needs
  • Gaining knowledge of the sourcing policies and procedures
  • Assisting in preparation of deliverables, presentation design and reporting for Supplier Diversity, SRM & ESG
  • Developing and maintaining effective relations as part of the team’s ongoing collaboration with key stakeholders, for example: sourcing colleagues and internal business partners, company Social Investments, Sustainability, Communications teams, and ERGs/BRGs, and externally with various councils and third parties that support the growth and success of diverse suppliers.

 

This may be a summer, fall, and/or winter opportunity with the potential for school semester engagement. The candidate should be able to work full-time during the summer and 15-20 hrs./wk. during a school semester.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $16.20 per hour
