Technical Intern - (Sophomore, Junior, or Senior) Job

The Outside Plant (OSP) Engineer Intern position is responsible for helping the OSP Engineer in the delivery of IT solutions, strategic planning, operations, and documentation of IT solutions.  Learn real world solution delivery, operations, subject matter expertise and relationship management skills.
 

• Learn relationship Management and collaboration skills, working as one team cross-organizationally to drive innovation and business results

• Managing the lifecycle of technical solutions

• Learn Subject Matter Expertise within the respective system domain products, platforms, processes, and architecture

• Gain general knowledge of technology architecture, infrastructure, network, security and software principles and models

• Work in partnership with internal and external vendors

• Learn analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills

• Build knowledge of future technology trends

• Experience leadership on technical aspects of large-scale projects

• Experience delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum) and operational models (ITIL)

• Experience and gain an understanding of core IT Service Management functions, such as Change Management and Incident Management

Required

• Pursuit of a degree from an ABET-accredited curriculum focusing on electronics, electrical/technical, computer science, or related degree.

• Sophmore, Junior, or, a Senior preferred.

• Basic computer skills and aptitude are required.

• Applicants need strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

• Must be able to work 15-20 hours a week during the school year and 30-40 hours a week during the summer.

• Must be able to commute to the office. Will work onsite for most of the time

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Administration experience of Microsoft Office 365 a bonus
• CAD experience

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $18.40 per hour
