Position Summary

Oversee all Billing and Payment programs, focus on shaping the future of billing and payments products impacting millions of customers. This includes products such as eBill, credit card payments, average monthly payment, automatic payment plan and others. Have direct influence and ownership on Customer Care’s budgeting for bill print costs, impacts to bad debt and drive digital transaction success. Use marketing expertise to determine positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications to shape the voice of the product and help it grow a consumer base. Work with a diverse team of partners across the enterprise to enhance the products and execute promotional plans that lead to business growth. Own product marketing strategy from beginning to end. Work to grow the various Billing and Payment Programs with excellent go-to-market strategies, products, media plans, marketing activities, overseeing analytics and ensuring financial responsibility.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Program Management – Implement all aspects of Billing and Payment portfolio marketing mix including pricing, sales channels, launch activities, acquisition and retention, life-cycle management and customer migration paths. Manage all aspects of daily product portfolio issues across segments to meet goals. Develop data-driven lifecycle marketing and cross-sell strategies to promote product growth and retention.
  • Overall Billing and Payment Product and Services Strategy – Develop and build a long-term strategic plan with a focus on customer billing and payment solutions that provide loyalty and value. Lead the implementation of billing and payment product and services growth and marketing strategies. Develop product positioning and value propositions.
  • Fiscal Responsibilities – Develop budgets, sales forecasts and profitability goals. Track the progress of each portfolio profit and loss (P&L) and product against target. P&L accountability for all Billing and Payment product offerings. Ensure programs are implemented within each state’s regulatory policies and requirements.
  • Analytics – Partner with stakeholders to leverage data analytics to support product development, sales and marketing activities, and track customer opportunities. Use business analytics to improve the effectiveness and acceptance of customer solutions and for ideas for new offerings.
  • Change Management and Industry Changes – Drive and champion recommendations of overall Billing and Payment Program of emerging technologies available. Keep abreast of billing and payment program and utility industry trends, benchmarking and other larger industry changes. Review competitive offering and promote ongoing differentiation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Seven years of experience in marketing, product management and product development.
  • Five years of experience leading multiple projects within a program portfolio, managing roadmaps and delivering products.
  • Advanced skills in communication of complex and advanced strategies, collaboration, comprehensive budgeting and planning, sound business judgment, problem resolution and proven results.
  • Comfortable in a face-paced environment.


  • Product management experience with billing and payments, technology or financial sector related to billing and payment

  • Salesforce experience

  • Innovative or emerging technology space experience

  • Advanced MBA degree

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $72,100 to $102,433 per year
