Xcel Energy is seeking an IT Solutions Analyst or Senior IT Solutions Analyst; requirements for both positions are below. This position will be based at Prairie Island Nuclear Plant in Welch, MN. At this time, relocation assistance is not expected to be provided. 

 

Preference will be given to candidates with a help desk/customer service background. Change Management experience is highly desirable. SharePoint proficiency is highly preferred.

 

Must live within 90 minutes to ensure proper implementation of Emergency Response plan.

 

A condition of employment will be successfully obtaining and maintaining General Security Clearance and a Nuclear Security Clearance for unescorted access to Xcel Energy nuclear plants including successful completion of nuclear General Access Training (GAT) and the nuclear security screening process (typically consists of an alcohol/drug screen, a criminal history check, a psychological assessment, initial credit and background investigation and periodic credit & criminal history checks).

 

During COVID-19 Pandemic this position may require the ability to temporarily work remote within the company service territory until company protocol dictates return to the office criteria has been met.

 

Position Summary
The Solution Analyst is responsible for requirements management and QA activities for solution delivery activities pertaining to their assigned IT Solutions. They serve as a conduit between the customer and the technical teams. Through strong relationships with business partners, they develop a deep business acumen, and apply that acumen to ensure IT solutions fulfill even highly complicated priority functions. They are a key contact with customers during deployment, ensuring accuracy of system operations. They support delivery methodology protocol for risk management, status reporting, governance/compliance, QA and other activities.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Analysis: Contribute to and lead aspects of roadmap delivery. Support and lead requirements management, QA, and deployment activities. Identify and drive resolution to capability gaps or operational risks. Partner cross-organizationally and with vendor partners to analyze cost/benefit of various options. Ensure solution delivery practices are structured, sound, and compliant.
  • Operations: Support system health assessments with analysis of operational risks, and recommendation. Provide standard reporting as needed. Execute assigned operational processes. Support validation and measurement of business value for deployed solutions. Conduct impact assessment analysis on changing business needs.
  • Relationship Management: Work in strong partnership with team, partners and stakeholders across the organization. Work with customers to understand needs and recommend continuous improvement ideas. Cultivate and sustain a deep acumen of business functions, processes and needs. Liaise with business partners on IT capabilities. Work collaboratively across organizations and stakeholder groups to ensure solutions are compliant and secure.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Attain strong acumen in analytical methods and tools, industry trends and organizational goals to ensure optimal technology solutions are sought.


Minimum Requirements - IT Solutions Analyst

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Science, Business or related field, or 4 years of experience equivalent to the position.
  • Five years of related functional experience Experience with Project or Product delivery practices, including SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall.
  • Ability to recommend innovative solutions to meet business needs.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of end-to-end process and system capabilities, as well as industry standards and emerging technologies and methods.
  • Ability to understand technical, functional, and operational details of respective solutions.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and detail orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build functional and technical subject matter expertise, process and tools expertise, and drive consistency in processes.
  • In-depth knowledge or the ability to quickly attain expertise on core IT components within the respective domain.
  • Ability to learn and apply structured analysis and delivery methods.
  • Strong communication skills, effective with varying organizational levels and skill sets.
  • Strong Relationship Management and collaboration skills, with a track record of working as one team cross-organizationally to drive innovation and business results.

 

Minimum Requirements - Senior IT Solutions Analyst

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Science, Business or related field, or 4 years of experience equivalent to the position.
  • Five years of related functional experience Experience with Project or Product delivery practices, including SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall Demonstrated ability to recommend innovative solutions to meet business needs
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement through lean and agile practices
  • Demonstrated in depth knowledge of end-to-end process and system capabilities, as well as industry standards and emerging technologies and methods
  • Ability to understand technical, functional, and operational details of respective solutions. Strong problem solving, analytical and detail orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to build functional and technical subject matter expertise, process and tools expertise, and drive consistency in processes. In-depth knowledge or the ability to quickly attain expertise on core IT components within the respective domain.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Science, Business or related field, or 4 years of experience equivalent to the position.

Posted Pay Range: IT Solutions Analyst: $62,700 - $89,032, Senior IT Solutions Analyst: $72,100 - $102,432.
