Gas Operations Intern
Project Description:
Work with the Gas Operations staff to support the preventative maintenance data needed to stay in compliance in accordance with our state Public Service Commission. Work as an entry level specialist doing tasks that support the tools, programs, and databases used to perform various operational tasks such as monitoring time, scheduling crew work, documenting expense, customer communication throughout the year. Through practical operations experience and mentoring, a successful candidate will gain significant professional confidence and people skills.
Will travel 10% of the time between Ashland, Phillips and Ironwood Service Centers - Upper Peninsula, Michigan.
This will be a summer opportunity with the potential to extend into a school semester. The candidate should be able to work full-time during the summer and 15-20 hrs./wk. during a school semester.
Anticipated Start date May 2025.
Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge in Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Enrolled in programs such as supply chain, advertising, marketing, safety and health, management, human resources, training, labor relations, public relations, government relations, business administration, legal and regulatory compliance and similar.
Strong work ethic and initiative
Ability to work well in a team environment
Strong written and verbal communication
Extremely Detail Oriented and organized
Phone Conversational skills and experience
Self-Starter with ability to work independently
Multi-tasking ability
Demonstrated business acumen and professionalism

Non-Bargaining
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $15.20 to $23.90 per hour
This position is eligible for the following benefits: Pension, 401(k) plan, Paid time off (PTO), Holidays
