Position Summary
Responsible for directing the activities of the nuclear accredited and non-accredited training programs at a nuclear site and for assuring that training is used as a strategic tool to provide highly skilled and knowledgeable personnel for safe, reliable, cost-effective operations and to support performance improvement. Ensures initial and continuing training complies within the constraints of applicable regulatory requirements, National Academy requirements, the operating licenses, and the Quality Assurance Plan. Functional areas of responsibility include direct reporting relationship to site accredited nuclear operations training programs. Areas of oversight and site performance responsibility include: site training assessments, accredited maintenance and technical training, general access training, safety training, leadership training and development, nuclear instructor training, emergency preparedness training, simulator testing and maintenance, NRC exam development and related procedures and programs. Will serve as the normal designee for the Fleet General Manager of Nuclear Training for corporate or nuclear industry participation and influence. Participation in Emergency Response Organization is required.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide station and fleet leadership to assure that training is systematically conducted to continuously improve performance, manage risk, implement excellence plans, comply with regulatory requirements, and meet station and fleet staffing needs.
- Demonstrates leadership in the conduct of quality training. This requires observing, enforcing, and correcting training practices, procedures, and policies.
- Provide leadership through participation in fleet and industry training initiatives, benchmarking, assessments, and assistance.
- Directly supervise site training leadership. This includes managing their performance, providing candid feedback, and assisting in their personal development.
- Manage budgeting, staffing, planning, monitoring, and reporting necessary to cost-effectively meet station and fleet training needs.
- Perform ERO duties based on site-specific assignment.
- Support the ongoing operations of the fleet and is jointly accountable with fleet personnel for the fleet meeting its excellence plan.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or previous SRO license or certification required.
- 10 years of related work experience, including
- 5 years of training experience and 5 years of leadership experience.
- Candidates must have strong nuclear training background.
- Knowledge of the Systematic Approach to Training, including 10 CFR 50 and 10 CFR 55, and associated regulatory guides, NUREGs, and ACADs required.
Preferred Requirements
- 10 years of experience in the Nuclear industry
- 5+ years of training in the Nuclear industry

Non-Bargaining
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $139,400.00 to $197,467.00 per year
