Position Summary

Director Site Performance and Operations Support is the highest level of authority at the site for interface and execution with the Centralized Nuclear Support Organizations. Responsible for the safe reliable operations of a nuclear generation power plant with accountability for the day to day performance and interface for all plant support functions. This includes Organizational Effectiveness; Human Performance; Performance Improvement programs; Training; Regulatory Affairs; Emergency Planning; Engineering; Project Management; Security and Environmental. Provides leadership to achieve a sustainable, high level of site performance through effective challenge and utilization of the Center Organizations and other Business Units to address stakeholder concerns, ensuring a high level of support to the site performance. This position has Long Range Planning, budget & fiscal accountability for the site and reports to Site Vice President.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating strategies to drive site improving performance through centralized support and oversight assisting site senior management achieving targets and goals. Provide oversight and accountability through challenge boards and other means.

  • Overall interface with Center Organizations to ensure support and execution of activities to maintain a high level of performance, reliability and safety. Assurance to rigor of process and effectiveness in evaluating risk significance. May provide additional independent assessment and guidance prior to implementation of special operating procedures, tests, and modifications to systems or equipment that affect nuclear safety.

  • Providing site oversight to operational, engineering, training and business support team activities and training program implementation. May provide stakeholder communications. Additionally, provide reviews to documents that represent the site to external stakeholders for completeness and accuracy.

  • Fiscal accountability for station budgeting, cost tracking and forecasting, for capital and O&M; Responsible for assembling and providing station input to the Long Range Plan and O&M budget.

  • Provides oversight and coaching on talent management, human performance assessments, coaching, accountability and performance management. Provides guidance and assistance in labor management issues such as grievance process, arbitrations and labor contract negotiations.

  • Effective oversight & implementation of site corrective action system, operating experience program, self-assessment and benchmarking programs

  • Point of contact to ensure Center Organizations are remaining engaged and active with industry initiatives and knowledgeable of industry trends that may impact site performance.

  • Must be a member of the Emergency Response Organization. Also participate in practice drills with the assigned crew as well as evaluate the performance effectiveness of the other crews.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Qualified candidates must have integrated nuclear power generating plant knowledge.

  • Current or previous SRO License or SRO certification required.

  • 10 years of responsible power plant experience, three years must be nuclear power plant experience. Equivalent Experience in other Centralized Functions may Be substituted for Plant Functional Experience. An additional four years in nuclear power plant department manager role or equivalent combination of nuclear power plant management and or training may be substituted.

  • Manager level experience in at least two (2) of the following nuclear power plant functional areas: RP, Chemistry, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Training, NOS, Regulatory Affairs.

  • At least two (2) years in the role as a Corporate General Manager Fleet Operations, Corporate Functional Area Manager or Site Focus Team member/leader is highly desirable.

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $144,800.00 to $205,600.00 per year
