Energy Solutions Engineering Intern

­Project Description:

We are looking for engineers to provide technical support for our commercial and industrial programs which help customers use energy more efficiently. This position will help facilitate program implementation, reviewing customers projects, supporting team members, and tackle key process improvement projects.

Successful candidates will have an interest in carbon reduction and learning about how the utility world is transforming through efficiency improvement and electrification. Position will focus on equipment which commercial and industrial customers use and how we interact with them. The successful candidate will have excellent collaboration and communication skills to share technical information and work collaboratively across internal and external teams.

This position is for a Jan 2025 or May 2025 start date. These positions may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel’s business needs.

Minimum Requirements

• Current student, Junior status or higher.
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Engineering or Computer Science
• Able to work part time during the spring (up to 20 hours a week)/full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week).
• Microsoft Office (Emphasis on Excel)
• Strong communication skills

• Able to commute to the corporate office in Denver, CO or Minneapolis, MN
• Data Analytics
• Thermodynamics

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $22.50 to $24.00 per hour

This position is eligible for the following benefits: Pension, 401(k) plan, Paid time off (PTO), Holidays
