Project Description:

  • This position will provide support to the SPS region troubleshooting and outage support for the turbine generator system. Work alongside Performance Optimization Fleet Turbine subject matter experts to provide a reliable and safe operating unit. Intern will become proficient in the turbine system and rotating equipment associated with the system.

  • Work with the Engineering staff to support the Fleet Turbine Team. Work as an entry level engineering analyst doing tasks that support the tools, programs, and databases used to perform various operational tasks such as outage coordination, materials ordering, vibration monitoring, and assist with troubleshooting of rotating equipment. Through practical operations experience and mentoring, a successful candidate will gain significant professional confidence and people skills.

  • This will be a school year opportunity with the potential to extend through the summer. The candidate should be able to work full-time during the summer.  If the intern works during the school year, their hours should be part-time.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in an ABET accredited engineering program, studying areas such as electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering

  • Must be a Junior or above.

  • Must have basic knowledge using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint

  • Ability to apply scientific method to troubleshoot equipment

  • Must be able to commute to service areas

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $22.50 to $30.10 per hour

This position is eligible for the following benefits: Pension, 401(k) plan, Paid time off (PTO), Holidays
