Gas & Electric Design Intern - Fargo, ND

The Gas and Electric Distribution Design Department at Xcel Energy is seeking a part time Design Assistant. The successful candidate will focus on executing excavation/right-of-way permits for government agencies, providing detail maps/sketches of proposed gas and/or electric distribution work. May also provide project management assistance and billing of gas and electric residential services. 

This position is for an immediate start. This position may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel Energy’s business needs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in a college/university, Junior status or higher

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in project management, construction management, Geography or GIS, or similar.

• Must have a valid driver's license.

• Ability to commute to location is required.

• Experience producing maps using ArcGIS, or other mapping-related software

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

• Reliable and able to prioritize and work independently

• Excellent communication skills

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $20.40 to $21.60 per hour

This position is eligible for the following benefits: Pension, 401(k) plan, Paid time off (PTO), Holidays
