Gas Engineering Intern

Candidates should live within a commutable distance from the Lipan Distribution (1123 W 3rd Ave) office in Denver, Colorado. Non-local residents will not be considered.
Work with the Gas Engineering staff to support pipeline/facility projects, both capital and ops/maintenance. Work as an entry level engineering analyst doing tasks spanning all aspects of plant operations including performance/efficiency, emissions control, contract and project management, specifying new and replacement equipment, making process improvement recommendations, supporting requests from operations and maintenance. Specific projects will be pipeline/facility design using various tools which may include AutoCAD, database management using Microsoft Excel and system modeling using Synergi. Through practical field experience and mentoring, successful candidate will gain significant professional confidence and people skills.
This position is full-time in the summer (40 hours/week), with the potential for continuation for part-time work during the school year. This position will follow the current hybrid work model with requiring employees to report to the office/field Tuesday - Thursday and work from home Monday and Friday.
Start: May/June 2024
- Must be enrolled in an ABET accredited engineering program
- Majoring in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil and Environmental highly preferred
- Prefer Sophomore or above. No graduate students.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to communicate effectively; both written and verbally
- Must be self- motivated, have good mechanical aptitude, and ability to work well with others
- Submit an unofficial transcript.
- Course work in power generation or project management and an interest in the power industry desirable
- Candidates within commuting distance of Denver, CO preferred
- AUTOCAD experience highly preferred
