Generation Engineering Intern

Project Description:

Work with our project lead engineers designing and managing capital projects throughout the Energy Supply SPS fleet. Coordinate with plant personnel to develop the project Scope of Work, determine technical specifications, evaluate vendor bids, generate budget and schedule estimates, oversee installation/commissioning/startup tasks, and complete drawing and technical document reviews/updates. This internship will provide hands on engineering design and project management experience in power plant capital projects and would potentially lead to a full-time position with our team following graduation.

This will be a spring opportunity with the potential to extend into a school semester. The candidate should be able to work full-time during the summer.  If the intern works during the school year, their hours should be part-time.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in an ABET accredited engineering program, studying areas such as electrical, mechanical, civil, chemical engineering, or similar.

• Must be Sophomore and above, no grad students.

• Must live within commutable distance to office listed.

Preferred:

• Electrical coursework preferred: Electric Machines, Measurement & Instrumentation, Power System Analysis, Electric Drives.

• Mechanical coursework preferred: Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Engineering Economics

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $20.70 to $24.00 per hour
