IT Security Administrator III (Active Directory, IAM)
Position Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is the day to day management and administration of access control across multiples operating systems, databases and applications like Active Directory, Unix, SQL, and related web based services. This position assists in incident research as well as research and evidence gathering for audits. This position also manages the monitoring, and troubleshooting for access governance processes to ensure effectiveness and alignment with requirements for compliance. This position will assist in providing training and assistance to other security administrators and assist in the overall management of the work queue to ensure effective and timely execution of requests. Secondary responsibilities may include coordinating tasks that involve multiple teams to meet one end goal and to assist with other projects as it relates to the implementation of access control and governance. This position will also cover an on-call rotation for emergency requests.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provisioning, de-provisioning and account management/servicing across multiple platforms.
- Support audit research and evidence gathering.
- Execute and support periodic access governance processes.
- Assist in incident investigations.
- Assist in providing training and assistance to other security administration staff.
- Assist in work queue management to ensure timely execution.
- Provide all assigned responsibilities as part of an on-call rotation.
Minimum Requirements
- Two year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years in security, help desk or call center experience including 2 years direct experience in security access administration.
- Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information and recommendations to management.
- Ability to excel in a team environment.
- Experience with the Windows and/or Unix operating systems.
- Experience with supporting and troubleshooting mobile devices a plus.
Preferred Requirements
- Hands-on experience supporting Active Directory integrations with identity systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving IAM workflow failures, provisioning issues, and entitlement discrepancies.
- Strong experience designing, implementing, and supporting Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) using IGA platforms such as Microsoft Entra, Avatier, and SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ). This includes identity lifecycle management, access request workflows, access certifications, entitlement management, and file access governance.
- Experience onboarding enterprise applications into IAM/IGA platforms, defining RBAC models, roles, and entitlements in alignment with organizational security standards.
- Experience working in a modern Nuclear Generating Plant (NGP) environment, with strict adherence to nuclear access controls and regulations including FERC and 10 CFR Part 810, and their impact on certification and compliance operations. Additional regulatory or compliance experience is a plus.
- System migration experience, demonstrating the ability to independently design migration schemas and tracking mechanisms for large-scale data migrations into IGA platforms. Including but not limited to, requirements gathering, automated data import solutions, and quality assurance testing.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse teams to understand business needs and stakeholder requirements, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Strong documentation and communication skills with the ability to produce clear, comprehensive documentation for owned systems and processes, and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Audit and access certification experience, including maintaining IAM documentation, procedures, and technical standards to ensure audit readiness, compliance, and platform stability.
