Position Summary
Accountable for developing and delivering goals and objectives related to the Company's advanced distribution grid efforts related to automated device communication and control. Assists in the development and execution of the strategic plan while directing control engineering activities for medium voltage distribution equipment. Accountable for innovative designs, resident technical matter expertise, and real-time technical support services to control field technician teams for medium voltage distribution equipment. Accountable for the development and training of department engineers. The position will be responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of the team, including review of engineering solutions, job assignments, and coordinating with other departments.
Essential Responsibilities
- Accountable for the development and application of company device control standards and philosophies.
- Accountable for company controls engineering activities related to system protection, device communications, and control related philosophies & standards, control device settings, power system modeling, and technical support to distribution technician and operations departments. Manages highly skilled and technical group of controls engineers.
- Coordinates the activities of the group with internal and external organizations to support corporate objectives and meet customer needs.
- Accountable for achievement of goals relative to project completion, budgets, safety, facility performance, regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction.
- Manages development of Unit business plan and operating budget. Monitors results. Ensures alignment with organization and corporate objectives.
- Communicates with and establishes effective working relationships with all operating company organizations outside normal span of control to ensure consistency, responsiveness, and resource allocation.
- Stays abreast of new technologies and current industry practices. Represents Company in Regional/National organizations.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in distribution system engineering.
- Leadership experience required.
- Demonstrated specific experience in the area of medium voltage controls engineering, including experience with distribution device control, power system modeling, network & device communications, system protection, and applicable standards preferred.
- Professional Engineering registration preferred.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $125,900.00 to $178,766.00 per year
