Xcel Energy is hiring one or more Planners (IBEW 160) at the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant.  This position is responsible for the preparation of the work control documents required for supporting preventative, corrective, and elective maintenance of equipment and structures.

The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical maintenance activities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical work instructions in Mechanical (I&C or electrical depending upon hire) work orders for the repair/refurbishment/replacement and preventative maintenance of facility equipment.
  • Develop and/or revise repetitive task and preventative maintenance documents (PM’s) with assistance from other plant personnel including engineering and craft.
  • Participate in training as necessary to acquire knowledge related to the maintenance planning discipline.
  • Identify and write quality control inspections into work plans/procedures.
  • Support the Corrective Action Process for maintenance related actions, events and assessments.
  • Attend work control process meetings to support scheduling and planning of work packages and supply input as to status of work packages, projected delays, and parts/services availability.
  • Supports the ongoing operations of the fleet and is jointly accountable with fleet personnel for the fleet meeting its excellence plan.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required - High School or general education degree
  • Preferred: Up to two years of formal post-high school specialized trade school, technical school, or college in engineering, maintenance, equipment maintenance, or related technical field.

A condition of employment will be successfully obtaining and maintaining General Security Clearance and a Nuclear Security Clearance for unescorted access to Xcel Energy nuclear plants including successful completion of nuclear General Access Training (GAT) and the nuclear security screening process (typically consist of an alcohol/drug screen, a criminal history check, a psychological assessment, initial credit and background investigation and periodic credit & criminal history checks).

Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $57.04 per hour
