Position Summary
The Senior Recruiter-Union Workforce plays a critical role in delivery and overseeing the recruitment process for union bargaining roles, ensuring alignment with Workforce Relations partners and company policies. This individual will manage the full lifecycle recruiting, including filling hard-to-fill bargaining positions. Additionally, they will act as player-coach, providing guidance and support to the recruitment team, handling escalations, and addressing questions.
This role will strategically collaborate with Workforce Relations partners, navigate multiple complex union contracts, and develop creative offer solutions. The Senior Recruiter-Union Workforce will engage and maintain diverse talent pipelines, marketing Xcel Energy as an employer of choice. They will implement effective recruitment strategies that reflect an expert understanding of the business and market.
The Senior Recruiter-Union Workforce will cultivate deep internal and external relationships, provide advanced consultation, and ensure a best-in-class experience for candidates and hiring leaders, embedding brand and Diversity & Inclusion into every step of the recruiting process.
Essential Responsibilities
Team Support & Issue Resolution: Provide guidance, oversight, and support to the bargaining recruitment team, handling escalations and addressing questions.
Strategic Sourcing: Research and develop diverse talent pipelines based on anticipated needs and guidance from business leaders. Initiate and sustain strategic, multi-channel conversations with external audiences to engage passive candidates. Collaborate with social media teams to ensure visibility for hard-to-fill strategic bargaining positions.
Business Relationships: Create and nurture deep relationships with Workforce Relations partners and operating business areas, acting as a consultative partner. Provide expert consultation demonstrating knowledge of the bargaining landscape and talent market. Network and build long-lasting stakeholder relationships. Manage difficult stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and addressing concerns.
Recruitment Strategy: Develop and implement recruiting strategies and plans. Utilize data and analytics to measure success and adjust as needed to improve productivity and cost-effectiveness. Build and maintain relationships with local technical schools, workforce solutions offices, and other relevant organizations to create a strong talent pipeline.
Recruitment: Oversee the entire recruitment process including bargaining requisitions and management and process refinement of the complexity of union bargaining agreements and contract rules. Effectively collaborate with stakeholders and employ advanced sourcing techniques. Establish and drive strategies and timelines for sourcing, service, assessment, and selection. Ensure a smooth delivery of services to both internal and external customers.
Continuous Improvement: Assist in developing and simplifying current bargaining hiring processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop best practices and foster idea generation for continuous improvement. Support the team in learning TA practices and process knowledge. Coordinate Xcel Energy TA programs and other duties as assigned.
Analytics: Utilize data tools and metrics to track actions, improve candidate and hiring leader experience, service standards, and personal performance. Adjust as needed to improve productivity and cost-effectiveness.
Compliance: Ensure all recruitment activities comply with labor laws, union agreements, and company policies.
Minimum Requirements
BS/BA degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or a combination of education and experience).
5-7 years’ applicable experience in recruiting, HR, project management or related fields, preferably in a union/bargaining setting
Ability to travel occasionally and commute to events and company locations as needed.
Experience developing and implementing recruitment plans and strategies (including diversity recruitment).
Demonstrated knowledge of EEO and Affirmative Action. Knowledge of employment law
Demonstrated utilization of TA metrics and how they influence each level of the recruiting funnel.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with union roles and contract agreements.
Knowledge of working with workforce relations partners to meet staffing needs and comply with union agreements.
Project management for recruitment initiatives, planning, execution, and progress monitoring.
Ability to understand and navigate union contract agreements.

Non-Bargaining
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $82,800.00 to $117,600.00 per year
