Sr. Contracts Development Analyst

Position Summary
Administer the design, development, implementation, and analysis of financial and physical commodity contracts, credit support agreements, financial/hedging contracts, and other documents. Partner with counterparty and Legal to complete the industry-wide enabling and security agreements. Review and coordinate the assessment of structured transactions with stakeholders to move the deal flow forward. Communicate status with Front Office and Risk leadership. Identify contract issues requiring legal review and input from Front Office. Coordinate with stakeholders to document and implement contract solutions. Integrate critical contract information into various information systems daily. Review FERC filings and coordinate development of contract guidelines and regulatory strategies.
Essential Responsibilities
- Contract Development & Analysis: Develop and implement a variety of energy related service contracts and agreements (e.g. ISDA, MPPSA, PSA, WSPP, NAEMA, Brokerage Services, Credit Support Annexes, NDAs, etc.). Evaluate and revise contract & credit provisions drafted by third parties to ensure consistency with corporate contract templates and requirements. Identify contract risks, issues, and provisions requiring legal analysis and interpretation. Review and provide input on non-standard agreements. Ensure contracts and documents comply with Company standards & policies. Monitor contracts for re-openers, renewal dates, and termination dates.
- Perform cross functional analyses and reviews of structured transactions, effectively communicating deal specifics to various functional groups for their independent review and analysis. Vet transaction questions. Administer the origination transaction pipeline, communicating deal timelines to ensure inputs and deliverables are completed on a timely basis.
- Contract Database Management: Maintain various contract, confirmation, records management, and retrieval systems & processes. Ensure the transfer of contract provisions, counter party information, and physical records to these systems. Enter and maintain counterparty and contract information in Documentum and other systems.
- Regulatory Policy & Compliance: Research and track FERC filings to evaluate business impact and proposed contract and regulatory mitigation strategies. Prepare filing of executed contracts, amendments, and terminations with FERC and state regulatory agencies. Prepare required reports for Mid-Continent Area Power Pool, Western Systems Power Pool, and FERC. Primary responsible party for contract data requests.
- Represent the Company: Actively participate in industry and trade association contracts subcommittees and working groups. Monitor industry trends and contract issues to inform management and stakeholders of significant changes to industry-standard templates.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Six years of contract administration, analysis, or related experience in an energy or commercial trading organization.
- Energy contracts experience.
- Knowledge of wholesale contract law and bankruptcy concepts/provisions.
- Experience negotiating with counterparties and advocating for Company positions with decision-makers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare contracts and interface with Legal, executives, and authorized signatories.
Preferred
- Paralegal experience or a Juris Doctorate degree preferred

Non-Bargaining
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $82,800.00 to $117,600.00 per year
