If you’re a college student looking for hands-on experience at a leading Fortune 500 company, Xcel Energy has exciting internship opportunities. Most of our internships have a specific focus, but our interns often get broader exposure to Xcel Energy’s business, insight into different areas of the company and the chance to explore a career in the energy industry. And with more than half of our workforce eligible to retire within the next 10 years, we’re always looking for bright new talent.

Most of our internships are full-time summer positions, but we also offer some part-time year-round co-op internships that can be set up to accommodate your class schedule. All internships are paid and include some level of benefits, such as a 401(k) and paid time off, and many of them can result in full-time jobs down the road, based on performance.

We do require that our interns be enrolled in a full-time bachelor or master’s program and be actively taking classes. If your school requires that internships earn academic credit, we can work with them to facilitate that.

Internships are available across our eight-state service territory; scroll down to see what’s available near you.
