IT Solution Lead
Position Summary
The Solution Lead is accountable for end-to-end ownership of Salesforce solutions, with a strong focus on Marketing Cloud strategy, oversight, and delivery. This role leads solution design and execution across the full lifecycle—ensuring platforms are scalable, secure, and aligned to business strategy, architecture standards, and enterprise DevOps and release management practices.
The Solution Lead brings deep expertise in Salesforce and Marketing Cloud, guiding design, development, and integration decisions while partnering closely with engineering, architecture, product, and business teams. They provide hands-on technical leadership across complex, cross-functional workstreams, navigating ambiguity and driving clarity on priorities, trade-offs, value, and risk.
As the primary domain lead and point of accountability, the Solution Lead represents business needs while ensuring technical solutions are operationally sound, well-governed, and delivered with disciplined release and change management. They serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring outcomes are measurable, customer-focused, and sustainably delivered at scale.
Essential Responsibilities
- Relationship Management: Partner with business areas, customers, and stakeholders to understand needs and opportunities, with a strong focus on Salesforce and Marketing Cloud–enabled capabilities. Represent business partners in strategic planning and investment prioritization, establish collaborative internal partnerships, and provide coaching and direction to less experienced team members.
- Solution Delivery: Participate in Demand Management preparation, lead and support delivery lifecycle activities, and ensure solutions are designed for great user experience and operational performance. Facilitate delivery meetings and ceremonies. Lead analysis and design. Provide needed plans, demo's, artifacts, and procedural documentation. Lead and support end‑to‑end delivery lifecycle activities for Salesforce solutions, with deep involvement in Marketing Cloud design, development, and integration. Ensure solutions deliver strong user experience and operational performance, facilitate delivery ceremonies, and produce required plans, demos, artifacts, and procedural documentation.
- Operations Management: Ensure Salesforce and Marketing Cloud solutions are designed for stable, scalable operation. Monitor solution performance, assess platform health, and drive proactive actions to prevent service disruption, aligning stakeholders on maintenance, release, and deployment schedules.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Stay abreast of industry and technology trends to continuously improve solution delivery practices and customer satisfaction. Serve as a Salesforce subject matter expert with a specific focus on Marketing Cloud, staying current on platform capabilities, DevOps practices, and industry trends to continuously improve delivery effectiveness and customer outcomes.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science, Business or related field, or 4 years of experience equivalent to the position.
- Seven years of related functional experience.
- Experience with Project or Product delivery practices, including SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall. Agile Experience, PM/PO Certifications a Plus.
- Salesforce Certifications a Plus.
- Familiarity with Jira, Jira Align, DevOp Tools, Microsoft 365 with Co-Pilot.
- Familiarity with drafting AI prompts and Building Agents a Plus.
- Demonstrated ability to recommend innovative solutions to meet business needs.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement through lean and agile practices
- Demonstrated in depth knowledge of end-to-end process and system capabilities, as well as industry standards and emerging technologies and methods.
- Strong understand of technical, functional, and operational details of respective solutions.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to build functional and technical subject matter expertise, process and tools expertise, and drive consistency in processes. In-depth knowledge or the ability to quickly attain expertise on core IT components within the respective domain.
- Excellent communication skills, effective with varying organizational levels and skill set, and able to translate between technical and non-technical concepts.
- Excellent Relationship Management and collaboration skills, with a track record of working as one team cross-organizationally to drive innovation and business results. Strong functional partnership skills, working effectively with business stakeholders, executives, and technical leaders across the enterprise to align priorities and outcomes for the Salesforce platform.
Preferred Requirements:
- Hands-on knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (e.g., Journey Builder, Email Studio, Content Builder, Automation Studio) and how it’s used for targeted customer communications.
- Experience translating business needs into Salesforce technical scope and delivery approach.
- Strong understanding of enterprise work intake, defect management, and release coordination.
- Familiarity with Salesforce DevOps and release management practices across environments.
- Experience supporting production issues, including structured triage and impact communication.
- Knowledge of platform operations and support escalation, working across teams and vendors.
- Hands-on knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (e.g., Journey Builder, Email Studio, Content Builder, Automation Studio) and how it’s used for targeted customer communications.
- Awareness of AI capabilities in Salesforce, including agentic AI for process automation and intelligent interactions.
