Pension Analyst I Job

Position Summary
Support dedicated funds management administration and analysis for investments in employee pension trust fund, employee retirement savings fund, nuclear decommissioning trust fund, non-qualified retirement plans, and postretirement benefit trust funds.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing portfolio transactions including, but not limited to contributions, capital calls, fees and portfolio rebalancing. Duties may include monitoring portfolio level cash, communication and tracking of portfolio transactions, portfolio rebalancing and performance analysis, and reconciling, monitoring and paying investment management fees.
  • Support the investment manager performance evaluation process. Duties to include collection and maintenance of investment manager performance reports and documentation, updating of investment manager performance data base, and assisting in updating and dissemination of asset pool performance reports.
  • Assist with the monitoring of existing and prospective investment managers. Support investment manager search activities for the employee retirement savings funds as needed. Duties may include attending and participating in due diligence discussions with investment managers, documenting meeting notes, and maintaining an investment manager database.
  • Assist with other reporting efforts, including annual audit reporting, Schedule 5500 reporting, coordination of tax documentation, and other reporting and financial modeling projects as needed.
  • Other projects as assigned.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Statistics or related discipline desired.
  • Understanding of basic finance and investment theory.
  • Analytical, problem solving and financial modeling skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service and relationship development skills.
  • Desire to participate in personal/professional development training to facilitate skill development and to improve ability to perform more complex tasks.

 

Preferred

  • Interest in pursuing a CFA or MBA
  • 1-2 years of investment related experience
  • Genuine intellectual curiosity for investments/ investment industry

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $50,000 to $71,333 per year
