Position Summary

Responsible for providing expertise, vision, leadership and strategic direction to establish and maintain the Company's big data footprint. Create and promote architecture design patterns and facilitate solutions that leverage those patterns. Responsible for providing design leadership in large or complex development of end to end big data projects involving application development, migrations and additions to existing applications.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Big Data Architecture Framework: Create and maintain big data architecture standards and frameworks which support the big data strategy. Lead & drive efforts to develop, maintain and measure reference architecture, standards, design patterns and related technical documentation to ensure implementation of the strategic big data plan.

  • Planning & Strategy: Develop business, information and technical architectures that are aligned with data strategies & principles; develop optimized technology road maps to support strategic data; Responsible for development and maintenance of corporate analytics big data architecture and technology directions that integrate data and systems.

  • Architectural Governance: Coordinate, review and approve projects and work efforts to ensure that they are compliant with big data architectural standards, policies, and guidelines. Manage technical governance of technology solutions, big data architecture principles, big data reference architecture and big data standards.

  • Technology Leadership: Provide technical leadership and architectural direction. Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of big data/enterprise architecture technologies. Apply knowledge in the continued development and enhancement of advanced analytics plans.

  • Communications and Relationship Building: Interact with senior management and effectively communicate highly technical information to numerous audiences. Effectively develop relationships and gain support from related stakeholders.

  • Trend Analysis/Big Data Investment: Anticipate business needs and trends and the direction Advanced Analytics/Big Data must take in order to properly support the business.


Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS, MIS or related field.

- Eight years of big data experience with multiple programming languages and technologies.

- Experience with large scale big data methods Experience with researching, experimenting, and utilizing leading.

- Big Data methodologies and technologies.

- Experience with architecture, implementation and testing data processing pipelines, data mining / data science algorithms on a variety of hosted settings.

- Experience translating advanced business analytics problems into technical approaches that yield actionable recommendations across multiple, diverse domains; communicate results and educate others through design and build of insightful visualizations, reports, and presentations.

- Fluency in several programming languages, with the ability to pick up new languages and technologies quickly; understanding of cloud and distributed systems principles, including load balancing, networks, scaling, in-memory vs. disk.

- Demonstrated ability to work with team members and clients to assess needs, provide assistance, and resolve problems.

- Geospatial data understanding

- familiarity with databricks, fivetran, data engineering and ETL processes

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $120,000.00 to $159,400.00 per year
